This will depend on the severity of the claim and how quickly an adjuster can reach you to set the inspection. Most of our claims are settled within 5 days of getting the adjuster’s final report. In case of a catastrophic claim an advance can be provided to assist you with your immediate needs.
You are assigned a claim examiner who will oversee your file from the beginning to its conclusion. Even if your assigned adjuster is not available, our staff works as a team to assist with all our customers in case a problem or an immediate concern arises.
Most policies cover your additional living expenses, or your lost rental income, if the home is not inhabitable. We cover the additional costs so that your household can maintain its normal standard of living. Your file examiner can help you find temporary housing. The examiner will provide the necessary instructions to help you get reimbursed for your expenses.
It is not a requirement to be represented during your claim. The majority of our claims are handled with complete satisfaction without the need for representation. We understand that there are circumstances which may lead you to feel representation is needed, however, we ask for the opportunity to service you and treat you as we would like to be treated. The cost of an attorney or public adjuster comes out of your settlement.
Your deductible is your share of the cost of each covered occurrence. The deductible will be subtracted from the settlement.
Your deductible will be subtracted from your settlement payment. It will be your responsibility to pay the person or company doing the repairs.
Your policy may have a different deductible for hurricanes, wind, or hail from any other type of loss. There is no deductible for a liability claim for property damage or an injury caused by you. Please contact your agent to discuss any questions about the deductible options.
If your neighbor’s tree damages a covered structure on your property, you may make a claim under your policy or pursue your neighbor directly. If the tree is dead we will attempt to recover our payment and your deductible from their carrier.
